QBBedit [1.29]
Description Fully featured menu driven editor for Msghdr.Bbs.
Works in FrontDoor environments only, requires no
installation or configuration.
Requirements IBM PC, AT or compatible, DOS 3.1 or higher, harddisk,
256 KB RAM (640 KB plus EMS 4.0 memory suggested).
FrontDoor 1.99c, 2.00, 2.01 or higher (Fd.Sys and
Folder.Sys or Setup.Fd and Folder.Fd should be in
the current subdirectory or reachable via the "FD"
environment variable).
Features * Full access to each field of the message header
* "Search" and optionally "Search & Replace" function
on "By:", "To:" and "Subject:" header fields
* Optionally display of message text
* Hex dump of message header and message text; optionally
display of Pascal structure for Msghdr.Bbs
* Free reply-linking of messages; reply-linking of
messages with or without a common string in the
"Re:" field
* "Undelete" messages by resetting the "Deleted" flag
as long as the message files have not been packed
* Tagging of messages by any combination of "By:", "To:"
and "Re:" fields, board numbers and date range
* Freeing of message subjects from obsolete stuff like
leading "RE:", "(R)" and similar strings.
* Optionally check for questionably dated messages.
* Moving of messages to an other board
* LAN- and multiuser-aware
* DOS shell and "hot key" execution of Tsutil.Exe;
requires only 10.5 kb RAM while resident
* Supports printing or ASCII export of messages
* Full text search capabilities
Options These command line switches are available (use "/"
or "-" with no blank before each parameter, i.e.
"/noclock" or "-ro"):
date: perform check for questionably dated messages
on program startup
list: switch to header list mode immediately after
program start (equivalent to pressing Alt-F9)
noclock: don't display realtime clock in text dump mode
(use this if you encounter any troubles with the
realtime clock on slow 80286-systems)
nolog: suppress log messages in FrontDoor's logfile
norodent: suppress cynical "OK" click box if a Microsoft
compatible mouse was found
quiet: surpress sounds the program eventually generates
ro: open message files in read only-/deny none-mode
slow: required if the message base contains more than
21.000 messages
